Forza Horizon 4 Tips and Tricks

If you're starting Forza Horizon 4 for the first time and want to get a few pointers, check out our tips below. If you can't figure out how to get the Forza Horizon 4 DLC into your game, we've got a guide on how to download the DLC, too.
  • For the uninitiated, Forza Horizon 4 takes place around the U.K., and the map can change between Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
  • There are two types of currency in the game: CR (credits), used to purchase new cars and parts, and Influence, used to gain access to new events and seasons.

  • You can earn both types of currency through participating in events around the Forza Horizon 4 map, and the higher you place in events like races, the more CR and Influence you’ll earn.
  • You start out in Spring, and you unlock Summer, Fall, and Winter for every 50,000 Influence you hit.
  • Every time you level up through earning enough CR, you’ll unlock a ‘Wheelspin’.

  • A Wheelspin is basically a lottery of rewards, including new vehicles, outfits for your avatar, and amounts of CR.

How to Download DLC Cars in Forza Horizon 4

If you’ve purchased a special edition of Forza Horizon 4, or if you own the car pass for the game, then you might be wondering how to get your hands on some of these elite DLC vehicles, like the James Bond cars. To access a list of DLC cars in Forza Horizon 4, you’ll firstly want to head to either the main Festival Site in the middle of the map, or a House.

Houses are found by driving around the map, and once you’ve found a House, you’ll then be able to purchase it using CR (although they’re usually pretty expensive). Either visit the Festival Site in Forza Horizon 4, or visit a house you’ve purchased, and you’ll be able to see a list of all the available DLC cars that you can download.

Keep in mind that while most of the DLC cars in Forza Horizon 4 are available for free once you’ve purchased their corresponding expansion packs, some will cost you CR to obtain. These are usually the more elite cars, like the James Bond Aston Martin DB10, in which case you’ll have to get out on the roads and earn some CR through races and other events.

This might be the end of our introductory Forza Horizon 4 guide for now, but there’s plenty more to cover on the game just yet. For now, you can continue ahead to any of our in depth Forza Horizon 4 guides, but we’ll be updating this guide at a later date, as soon as we uncover any additional details in the game.

Forza Horizon 4 Cars

There are well over 400 total cars in Forza Horizon 4, and we've got the full list of every single vehicle in the game just below. There's both new and old vehicles alike in this game, including supercars like Bugatti and Aston Martins, all the way to classic vehicles like Chevrolets and Dodges.
This Forza Horizon 4 car list includes cars that have been made available via DLC. These Car Packs will be released over the course of the game's lifespan, each adding a solid selection of new vehicles to race around in or customise. We've also got the ten fastest cars in Forza Horizon 4, if you're only interested in getting your hands on the speediest vehicles the game has to offer.

Forza Horizon 4 Fastest Cars

These are the ten fastest cars in Forza Horizon 4, listed from slowest to fastest (although saying "slowest" seems a little disingenuous). The speeds stated are the default top speed for each of the cars and don't take any tuning or customization into account. The speed figures are also each car's rating in that category out of 10, and aren't MPH or KMPH.
  • 10. Koenigsegg Regera - 9.2
  • 9. Ford “Hoonigan” Mustang - 9.3
  • 8. McLaren P1 - 9.3
  • 7. LaFerrari - 9.5
  • 6. Koenigsegg Agera - 9.6
  • 5. Bugatti Veyron - 9.9
  • 4. Koenigsegg One:1 - 10
  • 3. Bugatti Chiron - 10
  • 2. Venom GT - 10
  • 1. Koenigsegg Agera RS - 10
The top end of this fastest cars in Forza Horizon 4 list is the very definition of splitting hairs, so your choice for the fastest car in the game might differ to ours. We tried to look at handling and acceleration to determine which car placed first.

Forza Horizon 4 Car List

This is what it says in the heading above: a list of the cars in Forza Horizon 4. Nothing more, nothing less. We've said if a car is exclusive to a piece of DLC, while the rest are included in the base version of Forza Horizon 4.

How to Earn Influence Quickly, Extra Influence Through Mixer

Influence is key in Forza Horizon 4, being the way you unlock new events and seasons. In this Forza Horizon 4 Influence guide we'll explain the best ways to earn Influence quickly in Forza Horizon 4, so you don't spend an excessive amount of time grinding events to rack up your overall influence tally.
But if you instead need anything else on this latest iteration of Forza, you’ll want to head over to our Forza Horizon 4 guides hub. It’s on this page that you can find all the beginner’s tips and tricks for getting into Turn 10’s game, as well as how to gain access to and download DLC cars from expansion packs.

Forza Horizon 4 Influence Guide

Influence is how you make progress in Forza Horizon 4. It's not really a currency, but more of a measure of how successful you are in the game world. The higher your influence, the more events you gain access to. There are numerous ways to build your influence, which is what we detail in the sections below.

At the beginning of Forza Horizon 4, you’ll start out earning Influence based solely on events and races. You’ll not only earn Influence based on where you place at the end of a race, but you’ll also earn Influence based on the tricks and stunts you perform during a race, such as your airtime, overtakes, and drift time. It pays to drive as stylishly as possible in Forza Horizon 4.
But, there are methods of earning Influence while you’re out exploring the open world of Forza Horizon 4. Every time you level up through earning CR during races, you’ll unlock an Ability Point to spend on the car that you were racing with when you levelled up. If you pause Forza Horizon 4 and head to the ‘Car Mastery’ menu, you’ll find an array of perks that you can unlock for the car that you’re currently driving.

The very first of these perks is called ‘Weekend Toy’, and it basically allows you to earn Influence while driving around the open world of Forza Horizon 4. You’ll accumulate Influence through driving at high speed, drifting, performing jumps and other stunts, and many other impressive moves while out on the open roads. This is the easiest way possible of earning Influence in Forza Horizon 4, as while races and other events can be time consuming, driving around the open world is quick and easy.

How to Earn Forza Horizon 4 Influence With Mixer

It's possible to earn influence in Forza Horizon 4 without doing anything special at all. In fact, you'll essentially be earning it for playing the game. You can do this by streaming through Mixer, Microsoft's Twitch rival. Earning Influence through Mixer is actually pretty simple. All you need to do is follow the simple steps below, if you don't already have your Mixer account linked to your Microsoft/Xbox account:
  • Log in to Mixer.
  • Click on Account.
  • Go to 'Link Accounts' under the Settings tab.
  • Select 'Link Your Microsoft Account.'
  • Follow the on-screen steps to link the two accounts.
Now, whenever you stream Forza Horizon 4 through Mixer, or even watch other people's Forza streams through Mixer, you'll earn Influence for your own game. However, in order to unlock this feature in the first place, you'll need to have progressed through all four of Forza Horizon 4's Seasons, and be qualified on the Horizon Roster.

We might be all done with this Forza Horizon 4 guide on how to earn Influence quickly, but there’s plenty more to cover on Turn 10’s racer just yet. You can head over to our Forza Horizon 4 car list guide, where we’ve compiled a complete list of every available vehicle in the game, including DLC cars like the James Bond Aston Martin.

Forza Horizon 4 Barn Finds

If you've only just started playing Forza Horizon 4 and are wondering why you can't get any of the barn finds, be patient: the Forza Horizon 4 Barn Finds aren't unlocked until you've been playing the game for a little while. You'll notice that the menu option for Barn Finds is discolored in the early hours of the game, and it'll only open up to you once you've completed 'The Behemoth Showcase' event, in the northern part of the map. This showcase event unlocks once you've entered the autumn/fall season.
After this, Barn Finds aren't just given to you all in one go. Instead, Forza Horizon 4 drip feeds them to you, tasking you to go to a certain location, and find the Barn located nearby. Just below, we'll detail the complete list Forza Horizon 4 Barn Find locations, so you can unlock them all as quickly as possible. If you're after season-specific barn finds, check out the section just below this main list. Barn finds are special cars that you can't get unless you hunt them down in the Forza Horizon 4 map. Use our guide below and you'll have them all in no time.

1973 Range Rover Barn Find

Winter Barn Find: This Winter Barn can be uncovered on the tiny island in the middle of Derwent Lake, but only in the dead of Winter once the lake itself has frozen solid.

Keep in mind that some of the Barn Finds listed above won’t always be available in every season of Forza Horizon 4. Sometimes, barns can only be unlocked when you’re in either Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. Basically, if you don’t have a specific Barn Find rumor telling you to go to one of the locations listed above, it won’t be available in your current season.
